Parallelogram type with treads pivoting on full length stringers.
Robust all steel construction, the stair flight is mounted on a
welded steel chassis sub-frame.
Automatic lift-mast locking mechanism fitted to protect against
hydraulic failure when elevated.
The stair treads and mid landing & top-platform walking-area
are surfaced with grip-faced aluminium tread-plate.
Sliding doors on top platform with hand-operated spring-bolts at
both sides of the top-platform to facilitate opening the aircraft
doors with the Steps interfaced with the Aircraft. Leading edges
fitted rubber buffering .A pivoting-section with rubber buffering is
fitted at the leading edge of the top-platform to compensate with
fuselage contours.
The stair has tubular-steel side/hand rails with a mid-rail and
clad with aluminium panels, fitted to both sides of the
stair-flight. Full aluminium panels are fitted to the sliding rails
at each side of the top-platform. All hand railing fitted with
plastic covering available in a range of colours.
Steering is turntable-type through a ball-bearing ring,
controlled by the tow-bar. Tow-bar has a 50mm diameter towing-eye
and grip-handle to assist coupling.
Four, 5-stud fixing, two-piece wheels, with industrial pnuematic
600-9 tyres are fitted on hubs with taper-roller bearings
Parking-brake – operating on front steering wheels, actuated by
raising the tow-bar.
Tubular-steel pushrails is fitted at the rear end of the chassis
both sides, providing a conveniently positioned hold for pushing and
pulling.
Jacks are fitted to the sides of the chassis-frame. The front two
are mounted on pull-out extending extension arms for increased
stability. These arms supported on nylon rollers slide easily &
are retained by spring loaded pins when retracted or extended.
